Where to park in Parramatta

Whether you want to go shopping, grab a bite, or catch a show, Parramatta can accomodate! As the new CBD of the west, there’s been a lot of change and development in the area and many new restaurants and shops. This is great news for visitors and locals alike, but it means Parking in Parramatta has become more difficult. Here are a few tips on where to park in Parramatta on your next visit.

On-street parking

Street parking in the main CBD area is $4.00 per hour from Sunday to Friday, $2.00 per hour after 6pm (Monday to Friday) and all day on Saturday. Most street parking in North Parramatta is $3 per hour on weekdays.

Off-street parking

If you need to park for more than 3 hours, off-street parking is the way to go.
Car park rates start from $3 per hour or $26 per day.

Free parking in Parramatta

The counccil do provide some free 15 min street parking spots across Parramatta, but it’s hard to come by.
Alternatively, parking in Parramatta’s Westfield shopping centre is free for the first 3 hours.

Public transport

Parramatta station is in the center of everything and also a major train station. If you’re heading in from the city, there are several express trains that go straight to Parramatta.

Parking restrictions

2 to 3 hour street parking limitations apply. Be sure to check the street signs when parking on the street.

Nearby attractions

For shop-a-holics, head to Church Street shops and Westfield Parramatta. For entertainment, check what’s on at the Riverside Theatre or Event Cinemas, or see a game at Bankwest Stadium. If you’re hungry or in need of a coffee, add Circa Espresso, Crinitis, the Bavarian Beer Cafe, and Gelato Messina to your list.

Parramatta Street Parking

Metered Street Parking is available in Parramatta CBD, generally for $4 an hour. There are some streets with ‘all-day’ or ‘10-hour’ time limits, and they top out at either $9.50 or $8.00 a day. However, don’t rely on finding one of these spots! They’re in short supply and very popular.

Private Car Parking

Secure and Wilson operate commercial parking lots in Parramatta, some of which offer all-day parking. You’ll typically be paying around $25-$30 for a full day’s parking.

Parking at Parra Leagues

Parra Leagues, just north of the river, has a great all day parking offer for members. Between 6:00am and 6:59pm, members can access free all-day parking once they spend at least $8 across the club. A couple of drinks or a meal will cover that!

While Parra Leagues doesn’t offer monthly parking, you could use this offer multiple times to access some of the most affordable parking in Parramatta. Be sure to check the terms and conditions on the Parra Leagues website.
