Manly is host to a range of council monitored street parking spots which line the beachfront from Manly Beach all the way to Queenscliff. Locals of the surrounding residential areas quickly snap these spots up early and benefit from the ownership of parking permits. For people visiting the area, these beachfront spots are run on a Pay-and-Display system, setting you back upwards of $10 per hour, up to $50 for the day!
Instead of risking a parking fine, book a spot on Oscar here.
Manly has four council car parks which collectively host 357 spots. However, NSW Destination (2016) reported that there are (on average) over 1100 domestic visits to Manly per day, and over 3000 internationals! Unless you plan on waking up for sunrise, your best bet to get parked in Manly with all your beach gear should be to book in advance.
From Central Station, catch any train to Wynyard or the circle line to Circular Quay. At Wynyard, choose from either the B1 service which runs every 5 minutes, or the M30. Hop off at Spit Junction and catch the E50 to Manly. At Circular Quay, catch the Manly Ferry or the Manly Fast Ferry. Note the Fast Ferry is about twice the price of the normal Ferry but takes about half the time. Catch it if you’re in a rush.
